Evening classes

Evening classes run in blocks of eight weeks and are held at The Elgin Community Centre in Elgin on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm.

 In your first class you will practice some basic techniques such as sawing, drilling and texturing on copper. You will also choose the piece you would like to make! The following week you will be given your precious materials and we will start your project. Throughout the eight weeks you will see demonstrations of the techniques we use in the class and try them for yourself while creating your piece.   

The class costs £120 plus materials. Additional bundles of saw blades cost £3.50


 

         Techniques you can learn include:

  • Sawing

  • Texturing

  • Roller printing

  • Doming

  • Annealing

  • Soldering

  • Etching

  • Delft clay casting

  • Drilling

  • Wax carving

  • Basic stone setting (round or oval stones only, 3mm minimum)
